Community Grants 2026

Supporting local projects that make a positive difference in Fair Oak and Horton Heath.

The Parish Council is committed to supporting local groups, charities, voluntary organisations and community initiatives that benefit residents and strengthen our community. Through our annual Community Grant Scheme, eligible organisations can apply for funding of up to £1,000 towards projects and activities that deliver a clear local benefit.

Applications open: 31 July
Applications close: 31 October
Maximum grant available: £1,000

What is the Community Grant Scheme?

The Community Grant Scheme provides funding to support projects and activities that benefit residents of Fair Oak and Horton Heath. Grants are available to help local organisations deliver initiatives that strengthen the community and improve local wellbeing

How much funding can I apply for?

Eligibility

Who Can Apply?
  • Community groups and voluntary organisations
  • Registered charities
  • Not-for-profit organisations with a governing document or constitution

Organisations must be able to demonstrate that they are financially stable and capable of delivering the proposed project. The Council is unlikely to award funding where there are concerns about an organisation's financial viability.

Applications open on 31 July and close on 31 October each year. Applications received after the deadline cannot be considered.

How are grant applications assessed?

Applications are assessed against the eligibility criteria and the information provided in the application. Applicants are encouraged to clearly demonstrate the benefits their project will deliver to the local community

What is Social Value?

As part of the assessment process, applicants are asked to demonstrate how their organisation contributes positively to the community. This may include:

  • Supporting local people and communities
  • Creating volunteering opportunities
  • Improving health and wellbeing
  • Promoting equality, inclusion and diversity
  • Reducing environmental impact
  • Supporting sustainable practices
  • Contributing to climate action and net zero objectives
