Part-time Caretaker

Salary: £12.00 per hour

11 Hours per week (increasing to 15 hours)

Fair Oak, Eastleigh

We are looking for a part-time caretaker to assist in the running of various council-owned community buildings across the parish. The role requires some light cleaning, gate locking, and litter picking, and during the summer months, supporting the Operations Team with the management of the Council’s Splashpad. The candidate will be required to work flexibly, covering early mornings, evenings, and weekends, subject to the business needs of the Council.

Main Responsibilities

To provide caretaking support to the Council including ensuring the security, cleanliness, and general maintenance of the buildings and community infrastructure, ensuring these are maintained to a high standard.

Key Roles of the Job

  • Responsible for opening, securely locking, and alarming the two Community Centres, Lapstone Pavilion and Parish Office before and after casual bookings;
  • Light cleaning such as sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping floors in buildings;
  • Gate opening and locking;
  • Fire alarm testing, and fire equipment checks;
  • Litter picking; and
  • Support in the management of the Council’s Splashpad at New Century Park

The successful applicant must have a full, clean, driving licence.
