2010 Carnival Highlights

This year's carnival was led down Sandy Lane by a very unique and loud drumming band.

Next in line were the Fair Oak and Horton Heath Carnival Princesses, riding along in a very fine vintage car.

The Happy Days Pre-School took part by dressing up as what they want to be when they grow up....

One of the local hairdressers adopted a tropical flavour for their entry.

With the World Cup and Wimbledon also taking place, Fair Oak Infants' World of Sport entry was suitably apt.

The local girl guides joined in by celebrating 100 Years of Guiding.

Our neighbouring princesses from Bishopstoke also came along to join in the festivities.

More Wimbledon-related fun came from Busy Bees - strawberries and cream anyone?

A spectacular float entry from Rainbows Pre-School took centre stage, winning the best entry award.

More music later in the parade came from 14th Eastleigh Spitfires Band.

The Mayor of Eastliegh also joined the procession, albeit from his very grand car.

An environmentally friendly entry from Fair Oak Juniors, who came along as Saints and Sinners.

Last but not least were the carnival queens and princesses from Hedge End.

After a very long and hot procession, everybody headed back to New Century Park for the Fete and Fair.

As always, a huge thank you to all who took part. It would not be the same without all your hard work.

We look forward to seeing you all again next year.
